History
Paris was developed in 3 BC when a celtic tribe of fishers settled on the bank of Seine. In 52 BC the tribe was conquered by the Romans and named Lutetia. The name was changed to Paris in the fourth century. During the 11th century Paris began to grow more because of the trade of silver and it was a travel route for lots of people.
The Building of the Effiel Tower
The Eiffel Tower was built because of the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Construction began on the Eiffel Tower in January of 1887 and was finished on March 31 of 1889. It was completed in a record time of 2 years, 2 months, and 5 days.
Growing Populations and Tourism
Paris had a significant growth in tourism after WWII. The World Expos which is large global exibit brought or 16 millon visitors in 1878. Also the main tourist sites that are located in Paris today brought some attraction to. Some of these sites are the Effiel Tower, Grand Palais, and Petit Palais.
